Aaron Nash // Gypsy Guitar Trio - 5pm - 7pm - FREE ADMISSION

  • Grange of Prince Edward 990 Closson Road Prince Edward, ON, K0K 2J0 Canada (map)

Concert description An evening of 1930s and '40s jazz, rooted in the European tradition — the melodic invention of jazz manouche and the spontaneity of the Hot Club sound. Expect great tunes, lyrical improvisation, and the real feeling of the swing era.

Chrystelle Maechler Chrystelle Maechler has been a professional jazz singer for over fifteen years. Born in France of Malagasy parents, she has performed across Europe and now lives in Montreal. Her sound draws on Africa, Europe, and North America — a plural musical identity that is entirely her own.

Aaron Nash Aaron Nash has been playing guitar for twenty-five years. He specialises in the jazz of the 1930s and '40s — gypsy jazz and the repertoire of the swing era — and is equally at home in Latin jazz, with a background that includes performing as lead guitarist with an international ensemble. He is known for lyrical improvising and an instinctive feel for the music of that era.

Phil Woodard Phil Woodard was born in London, England and has spent a long career as a performing and recording bassist across Canada, the United States, and Europe. He has played everything from country to classical, and brings that breadth to whatever he turns his hand to. He now makes his home in Prince Edward County, where he plays the music closest to him: blues, funk, and jazz.

Joseph Spinosa Dividing his time between PEC and Toronto, Joseph Spinosa performed as guitarist with the Prince Edward County Jazz Youth Ensemble at the 2023 PEC Jazz Festival, and more recently with Hart House Big Band in Toronto. A rare talent among musicians of any age, he brings an ear, a fluency, and a depth of knowledge that few his age can match.
