2025 Farmers' Series Cabernet Franc

2025 Farmers' Series Cabernet Franc
VQA Ontario
Tasting Notes
Nose: Ripe sun-baked cherry, dried strawberry and black plum are layered with hints of licorice, mocha and subtle spice.
Palate: Silky and supple with ripe dark fruit framed by fine, chalky tannins. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and a long, savoury finish.
This rich Niagara Cabernet Franc is part of our Farmers’ Series, which celebrates the friendships we have with Marynissen, in Niagara. The roses on the label represent the gorgeous gardens that adorn the estate. Roses are planted at the ends of vineyard rows at Marynissen Estates. This is an old vineyard practice because roses can act as an early warning system for certain fungal diseases, particularly powdery mildew. Roses and grapevines can be susceptible to similar diseases, and because roses mayshow symptoms earlier, they historically helped growers monitor vineyard health. At Marynissen Estates Winery, the roses are also part of the winery’s iconic visual identity and vineyard landscape-especially the prominent rows of roses visitors see among the vines.
